This is how I would set up a SOCOM lobby, game rooms, co-op, and ranking system.
Pre-set Game Rooms
Medley:
Two teams battle over territory. The first map will have a neutral game mode, either demolition, elimination, or control points. Whichever team wins the first map will then attack the losing team. So the second map will have a game mode where one team must complete an objective and the other prevents them from doing so. So the second map would be extraction. If the attacking team wins again then the third map would be breach. If the attacking team wins again the fourth map would be escort. If the attacking team wins again then the modes will restart back to neutral.
If the defending team wins then the attacking team will be pushed back a level. Whenever a neutral map is played a new neutral game mode will be played. So it will cycle between demo, elimination, and control points. For example: The seals win demolition (neutral map) and they attack the terrorists on extraction. The terrorists win so the seals are forced back to neutral territory. This time they play elimination. The terrorists win and then attack the seals on extraction. The seals win and force the terrorists back to neutral territory. This time they play control points.
The attacking team will gain more points per win than the defending team. Here is how the points would work for the winning team.

Demolition Medley: Winning team receives 1 point per player on the losing team.
Elimination Medley: Winning team receives 1 point per player on the losing team.
Control Points: Winning team receives 1 point per player on the losing team.
Extraction Medley: Extracting team receives 2 points per player on the losing team for a win. Defending team receives 1 point per player on the losing team for a win.
Breach Medley: Breaching team receives 3 points per player on the losing team for a win. Defending team receives 1 point per player on the losing team for a win.
Escort Medley: Escorting team receives 4 points per player on the losing team for a win. Defending team receives 1 point per player on the losing team for a win.
-The losing team in any game mode receives -1 point per player on that losing team.

Matchmaking System (This will match you with opponents of similar rank)

Ranking system (round based): Skill based ranking system based on win/loss record and your contribution towards that win or loss.
So if a win is worth 1 point, that one point will be divided amongst the winning team based on how much each player contributed to the win. Each player’s contribution will be based on a point system, much like that in the PS2 socoms. Kills, rounds survived, assists, objectives completed, rounds won, etc… will all count as points.
Your rank will be affected according to these equations:
Win: (your points earned) / (total team points earned) * (points for a win in that game mode) *(number of players on the losing team).
Loss: [ 1 – (your points earned) / (total team points earned)] * (number of players on the losing team).
To help prevent against rank ups:
-Aborting a game will count as a -8 point loss.
-A game that is started with the sides being uneven by more than 2 players will not be ranked.
-There must be a least 2 players on each team at the start of the game for it to be ranked.

-The winning team receives "x" number of points (depending on the game mode) per player on the losing team, so if one team is stacked they won't receive many points for the win.
Player Driven Online Co-op (Co-op without AI)
Teams of 4 will play through campaign missions, but the catch is that the enemies are not AI but actual gamers.
The seal team will play through the mission eliminating the enemies and completing whatever missions there are. They will be able to choose their weapons and attachments before the mission and can pick up any enemy weapons or random weapons lying around the map. The seal team can revive fellow teammates. If all 4 teammates die, or a mission is failed for some reason then the mission is over and the terrorist team wins.
The terrorists are a team of 4. They will respawn just as the enemy AI would spawn. When a terrorist dies they will respawn when there is a certain trigger (when you reach a check point, when an objective is completed, when a terrorist is killed, etc…). They will respawn in waves just like AI would. The terrorists have pre-set weapons. So one time you may spawn with an AR and another time you might have a sniper. It will depend on the mission and the time at which you respawn.
In the co-op lobby you can choose to be a seal or terrorist. If you choose seal, then you will be able to choose the mission. If you choose terrorist, then you will be matched into the mission that the seals choose. There will also be a Lobby system for Player Driven Co-op so you can choose who you want to play against, but these will not be ranked (to prevent ranking up).
There will be a co-op leader board. The early stage (easier missions) will be worth fewer points for the seals than the final, harder missions. In the harder missions the terrorists will respawn more frequently, have better weapons/attachments, and more strategic positions (flanking respawns, etc.) . Here is how the mission points will be rewarded.

Campaign Co-op.
-Play through the campaign with 4 players online.
-You can choose what mission to play, or you can start the campaign from the beginning. That campaign will be saved, but you can only continue it with the same 4 players. So when you get those 4 players into a campaign lobby you can choose specific missions or choose to continue your saved campaign. If you join a campaign lobby with other players you will have to start a new campaign, unless you have a campaign in progress with those players.
